Calisonic: WHY WE DO SOLAR LOAD AUDITS BEFORE EVERY INSTALLATION:
Why we do Load Audits before every installation. The picture below shows an ongoing installation of *60kWh battery / 44kVA inverter* system, you’re looking at a commercial setup for a Hotel
in Owerri.
*1. What 60kWh/44kVA actually means*
- *44kVA inverter* = ∼35kW-40kW continuous AC output. Rule of thumb: inverter = 1.25x your peak load with surge buffer.
- *60kWh battery* = energy storage. At 80% DoD LiFePO4 you get ∼48kWh usable. That’s about 6-8 hours for a 6kW average night load. ed0f3e3efb3d
*2. Core Components to Specify*
**Component** **Recommended Spec for 60kWh/44kVA** **Why**
**Inverter** 44kVA/40kW 3-phase Hybrid, 48V or 400V HV 3-phase gives better balance for motors/pumps. Hybrid = solar + grid + gen input. Brands: Fireman
**Battery** 60kWh lithium battery , 48V or 400V HV pack, 80-100% DoD Lithium lasts 6000+ cycles vs tubular. 60kWh ÷ 48V = 1250Ah total. Most installers use 4-5x 15.36kWh 51.2V 300Ah packs
**Solar Array** ~50kW - 60kW of panels Formula: Daily load ÷ Peak Sun Hours. PH averages ~5-7hrs sun. With 20% losses: 60kWh ÷ 0.8 ÷ 6hrs ≈ 12.5kW min. For 1.5 days autonomy + cloudy days, go 50kW+
**Charge Controller** MPPT built into hybrid inverter, or 200A+ external MPPT is 20-30% more efficient than PWM
**Panels** 500W-550W Mono PERC/Bifacial, 90-110 pcs 55,000W ÷ 500W = 110 panels. Add 10-20% extra for weak sun days. In CALISONIC we audit every and do proper sizing before every installation.
